2 Euro Commemorative Coin Andorra 2018 25th Anniversary of the Constitution of Andorra This €2 commemorative coin marks the 25th anniversary of Andorra’s 1993 Constitution. In a referendum held on 14 March 1993, Andorran voters endorsed the transformation of the country into an independent, democratic and social state governed by law. The Constitution placed sovereignty in the people, defined Andorra as a parliamentary co-principality and established guarantees for fundamental rights. It also brought the principality’s long-standing institutions into a modern constitutional framework. The coin depicts the monument dedicated to the men and women who supported the Constitution, located in the square of the General Council, Andorra’s parliament. Two simplified human figures represent its citizens. A map of Andorra, the motto “Virtus unita fortior” and the dates 1993–2018 complete the design.
