2 Euro Commemorative Coin Andorra 2018 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Andorra’s 2018 €2 commemorative coin marks the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Shaped by the experience of the Second World War, the Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948 as a common standard for all peoples and nations. It sets out fundamental rights intended for universal protection and later helped inspire many international human-rights treaties. The coin expresses that universal message through a compact visual allegory. Seven stair-like mountain forms represent Andorra’s seven parishes while also becoming the branches of a tree symbolizing humanity. Thirty leaves refer to the Declaration’s 30 articles. A Catalan inscription records the anniversary, and Andorra issued the coin on 26 November 2018.
