2 Euro Commemorative Coin Andorra 2025 Save the Bearded Vulture Andorra’s 2025 €2 commemorative coin honours the bearded vulture, Gypaetus barbatus, known in Catalan as the trencalòs. The issue recognises a distinctive Pyrenean raptor whose survival remains a significant conservation concern. Its design presents the bird’s head in right-facing profile, accompanied by “ANDORRA,” the year 2025 and the twelve European stars. The subject has particular relevance for the principality. Official monitoring reported a single breeding pair in Andorra and a low reproductive success rate. During the preceding decade, observers recorded nine clutches, but only three produced fledglings, in 2011, 2016 and 2018. A chick that successfully left its nest in June 2020 nevertheless marked a notable result for national wildlife protection.
