2 Euro Commemorative Coin Finland 2014 100th Anniversary of the birth of designer and interior designer Ilmari Tapiovaara The commemorative coin marks the 100th birthday of Finnish designer and interior architect Ilmari Tapiovaara (1914–1999), who designed, among other pieces, the Domus and Mademoiselle chairs. The obverse places his name and life dates at left and a close-up of a characteristic joint at right. The field also carries the country code FI, the mint year 2014 and the mint mark; the outer ring bears the twelve EU stars. Harri Koskinen is named as designer. The European Central Bank records a mintage of one million; the issue month is given as November 2014, and no exact date is confirmed.
