2 Euro Commemorative Coin Finland 2018 Finnish national landscape The Finnish 2-euro commemorative coin of 2018 honors Koli as a national landscape, highlighting a North Karelia area whose wooded heights and broad viewpoints shaped Finland’s national scenery from the late nineteenth century; artists contributed to that perception. The state acquired the Koli summits in 1907 to ensure their protection. The design shows the view from the highest point of Koli National Park over the characteristic lakes-and-hills landscape. The coin bears the country code FI, a mint mark, the issue year 2018, twelve stars in the outer ring, and the designer’s name, Erkki Vainio. Mintage: one million pieces. Issue month: April 2018.
