2 Euro Commemorative Coin Finland 2019 100th Anniversary of the Constitution of Finland The coin commemorates the 100th anniversary of Finland’s constitutional democracy. The constitutional law was adopted by Parliament in June 1919 and confirmed by Regent Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim on 17 July 1919. Together with earlier parliamentary, electoral and municipal laws it formed the foundation of Finland’s democratic rule of law, remaining in force until a new constitution took effect in 2000. The design renders this constitutional idea as three interlinked circular fields symbolizing the separation of legislative, executive and judicial powers; the left bears the year 2019, the lower right the country code FI and the mintmark, and the outer ring displays the twelve stars of the European flag. The mintage is 500,000 pieces. The release period is given as September–October 2019; an exact issue date is not established.
