The agreement established a lasting framework for political consultation, cultural exchange and reconciliation between two former wartime enemies, helping shape the wider project of European cooperation. On the coin’s image side, the two signatories are shown together with their signatures and the issue commemorated stated in German and French. France released a coin with the same design for the anniversary, making the shared motif a notable symbol of bilateral friendship and collective remembrance.
