2 Euro Commemorative Coin Lithuania 2020 Lithuanian Ethnographic Regions Aukštaitija is Lithuania’s largest ethnographic region and is often described as a cradle of Lithuanian statehood. The coin displays its coat of arms: an armoured swordsman accompanied by two angels. Beyond history, the issue also evokes regional culture, including the Sutartinės rooted there. It therefore joins a heraldic emblem to a landscape and its living traditions.
