2 Euro Commemorative Coin Luxembourg 2010 Coat of Arms of the Grand Duke The Luxembourg 2-euro commemorative coin of 2010 was issued under the title “Coat of Arms of Grand Duke Henri.” The coin’s inner core presents a left-positioned portrait of Grand Duke Henri looking to the right, with his coat of arms to its right; the date 2010 appears above the arms between the mint marks and partly extends into the outer ring. Below the central motifs is the inscription LËTZEBUERG, and the outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union. Henri, born 16 April 1955, became head of state on 7 October 2000 after his father Jean’s abdication. The consulted sources do not name a designer nor record an additional anniversary as the occasion for the issue.
