2 Euro Commemorative Coin Netherlands 2015 30th Anniversary of the EU Flag The Dutch issue of 2015 was part of a joint series by the euro-area countries celebrating thirty years of the European flag. Georgios Stamatopoulos transformed the twelve stars of the familiar emblem into human figures, connecting the flag with the idea of a community of citizens. The dates 1985 and 2015 make the anniversary explicit. The coin was released on 13 October 2015.
