2 Euro Commemorative Coin Portugal 2007 Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union Honouring Portugal’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, this 2007 two‑euro issue marks the country’s role chairing the Council in the second half of 2007. The inner design depicts a cork oak (Quercus suber) with the Portuguese coat of arms at the left and the inscription PORTUGAL. Also shown are the artist’s signature I. Vilar, the year 2007, mintmark INCM and the legend PRESIDÊNCIA DO CONSELHO DA UE; the outer ring bears the twelve EU stars.
