2 Euro Commemorative Coin Slovakia 2026 European Capital of Culture Trenčín was selected as a European Capital of Culture for 2026, becoming the second Slovak city to hold the title after Košice in 2013. The programme uses culture to bring together local history, contemporary art and European encounters. The coin design centres on Trenčín Castle and adds a palette, a film camera and theatre masks. These symbols show that the distinction is not only about the historic cityscape, but about a range of artistic forms.
