2 Euro Commemorative Coin Spain 2018 50th Anniversary of King Felipe VI Spain’s FNMT issued a 2‑euro commemorative to mark King Felipe VI’s fiftieth birthday, celebrated on 30 January 2018; the European Central Bank records the issue month as February 2018. The coin’s inner design reproduces the king’s coat of arms: the left half bears a semicircular “ESPAÑA” with the year beneath, while the right side shows the legend “FELIPE VI” alongside the royal crown and heraldic device. The outer ring is framed by the twelve stars of the European Union. FNMT also offered a separately sold hand‑struck proof intended for collectors, with technical details cited by the mint specifically for that proof finish.
