2 Euro Commemorative Coin Spain 2024 200th Anniversary of the National Police as a state security corp The Spanish 2-euro commemorative coin issued in 2024 marks the 200th anniversary of the National Police. The anniversary reaches back to the creation in 1824 of a nationwide policing body: the royal Cédula of 13 January 1824 established the Policía General del Reino to safeguard public welfare and public safety. The national side presents the official emblem of the Cuerpo Nacional de Policía, with the legend 'POLICÍA NACIONAL 1824–2024' above and 'ESPAÑA' below; the mint mark 'Eme Coronada' sits to the right. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union, framing the central motif. The design thus commemorates two centuries of organized policing in Spain. The coin was released in the first quarter of 2024.
