2 Euro Commemorative Coin Spain 2026 Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet - UNESCO World Heritage Sites Spain honors the Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet with a 2026 two‑euro commemorative coin, continuing the country’s series of coins celebrating UNESCO World Heritage sites begun in 2009; the design features a depiction of the monastery, while the national side reads MONASTERIO DE POBLET in a circle, with the mintmark beneath, ESPAÑA and 2026 at the bottom and the twelve EU stars on the rim. Poblet ranks among the largest and most complete Cistercian abbeys in the world, developed from the 12th to the 15th century around a church and incorporating a fortified royal residence and the pantheon of the kings and queens of Catalonia and Aragon. UNESCO inscribed the site in 1991, highlighting its artistic, historical and spiritual significance and its role in settlement and agricultural development of New Catalonia under the Crown of Aragon.
