2 Euro Commemorative Coin Vatican City 2012 7th World Meeting of Families 2 Euro Commemorative Coin Vatican 2012 – VII World Meeting of Families commemorates the seventh international gathering of Catholic families, held in Milan from 30 May to 3 June 2012. Its central theme examined the relationship between family life, employment and time devoted to celebration, addressing the pressures and expectations affecting households in the early twenty-first century. At the same time, the meeting presented family bonds as a lasting social and spiritual foundation. Pope John Paul II established this series of gatherings in 1994, and subsequent meetings have generally taken place every three years. The coin’s design expresses the event through a concise visual pairing: a family occupies the foreground, while Milan Cathedral rises behind it. This contrast links ordinary domestic life with the city and ecclesiastical setting that hosted the international celebration.
