Its ceremonial beginning was marked shortly before the new year, when the Holy Door of St Peter’s Basilica was opened on Christmas Eve 2024. This door is regarded as the jubilee’s most recognizable sign: its opening by the Pope announces the start of the sacred observance and symbolizes a passage toward renewed faith. The coin translates that event into a concise architectural image, presenting the open Holy Door at the entrance of the basilica.
