2 Euro Commemorative Coin Luxembourg 2012 Wedding of Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand-Duke, with Countess Stephanie de Lannoy This issue commemorates the official festivities surrounding the marriage of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Stéphanie de Lannoy. Celebrations took place on 19 and 20 October 2012, with the church ceremony held on 20 October; the coin was released in December 2012. The inner field presents three portraits: Grand Duke Henri on the left, and Guillaume shown in front of Stéphanie on the right. The inscriptions read “PRËNZENHOCHZAÏT,” “LËTZEBUERG,” and “2012,” while the outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union. The design is credited to the team of the Banque centrale du Luxembourg, pairing state iconography with a personal milestone of the grand-ducal family.
