2 Euro Commemorative Coin Finland 2012 10th Anniversary of Euro coins and banknotes The Finnish 2‑euro commemorative coin marks the ten‑year span since euro cash was launched on 1 January 2002 across twelve EU member states. Its shared design places the euro emblem within a stylized globe, signaling the currency’s international significance. Surrounding pictorial elements reference the areas the euro touches: a group of people for citizens, a tower representing the European Central Bank and finance, a ship for trade, factories for industry, and wind turbines for energy and research. The design is by Helmut Andexlinger and bears his initials AH. SUOMI FINLAND appears above and 2002–2012 below; the outer ring carries the EU’s twelve stars. The EU records a Finnish mintage of 1,500,000 and lists January 2012 as the release month.
