2 Euro Commemorative Coin Luxembourg 2012 10th Anniversary of Euro coins and banknotes Minted for the euro’s first decade in circulation, this joint 2‑euro issue was adopted by all euro‑area countries in 2012, each pairing the common design with its own national legends and mint marks. The image renders the world as a euro symbol, surrounded by emblems of society and family, the financial sphere (Eurotower), trade (a ship), industry (a factory), and energy and research (wind turbines). The design is by Helmut Andexlinger; his initials “A.H.” sit between the ship and the Eurotower. On the Luxembourg motif the country name and the dates 2002–2012 are included, and the outer ring carries the twelve EU stars.
