2 Euro Commemorative Coin Portugal 2012 10th Anniversary of Euro coins and banknotes Portugal issued a 2 euro coin for the tenth anniversary of euro banknotes and coins. It commemorates the practical introduction of euro cash in 2002 and the currency's role in European integration. The common reverse shows a world shaped as a euro symbol, surrounded by a family, the Eurotower, a ship, a factory and wind turbines. The national side reads 'PORTUGAL' and '2002 2012' with twelve stars on the outer ring.
