Their mission combined the spread of Christianity with learning and the development of a Slavic written tradition, leaving a lasting mark on the region’s cultural memory. The coin places the brothers beside a double cross on three hills. A book, a church and a bishop’s staff point at once to education, faith and the ecclesiastical order associated with their work.
