2 Euro Commemorative Coin Netherlands 2013 200th Anniversary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands In 2013, the Netherlands celebrated two hundred years of its kingdom, whose origins date to 1813. The coin presents the seven sovereigns of the Dutch monarchy as a sequence of connected portraits. A ribbon binds the heads together, turning two centuries of continuity into a visible theme. Roosje Klap and Claudia Linders created the design, released in November 2013, which condenses the dynasty’s history up to Willem-Alexander.
