2 Euro Commemorative Coin Finland 2014 100th Anniversary of the birth of author and artist Tove Jansson This coin commemorates the 100th birthday of Finland-Swedish author and artist Tove Jansson (1914–2001), whose Moomin stories and illustrations are known internationally. It also acknowledges Jansson's work as a painter, an illustrator and as a writer of novels and shorter prose for adults. The inner field bears her portrait, with her signature and the life dates “1914–2001” underneath. To the left is the country code "FI"; to the right the issue year "2014" appears together with the mintmark; the outer ring displays the twelve stars of the European flag. The designer is Jari Lepistö; the mintage is 1,500,000 and the issue date is 01.06.2014.
