2 Euro Commemorative Coin Vatican City 2015 The VIII World Meeting of Families 2 Euro Commemorative Coin Vatican 2015 – VIII World Meeting of Families commemorates the eighth international gathering of families, held in Philadelphia from 22 to 27 September 2015. Families from many countries took part, and the event concluded on 27 September with a Mass along Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The coin therefore places the family within a contemporary setting that was both international and strongly connected to public religious life. Its central design expresses this message through two families embracing around the entire globe, turning a simple human gesture into an image of worldwide solidarity. The inscription identifies the meeting and the issuing state, while 2015 appears above the composition. The surrounding ring is completed by twelve stars, and the Roman mint mark is also included.
