2 Euro Commemorative Coin Portugal 2017 150th Anniversary of the birth of Raul Brandao Portugal’s 2017 €2 commemorative marks the 150th anniversary of Raul Germano Brandão, born 12 March 1867 in Foz do Douro and deceased 5 December 1930 in Lisbon. The national side depicts Brandão’s portrait with the legend “RAUL BRANDAO 1867 2017” at left and “PORTUGAL” at right; the upper field bears the inscription “LUIS FILIPE DE ABREU (l'autore) - INCM” and the motif is framed by twelve EU stars. Issued in autumn 2017, the standard release was limited to 500,000 coins and was available in FDC and FS folders.
