2 Euro Commemorative Coin Luxembourg 2018 150th Anniversary of the Constitution of Luxembourg This coin marks 150 years of Luxembourg’s constitution. Adopted on 17 October 1868 as a revised constitutional text, it mediated between the liberal aspirations of 1848 and the more authoritarian order of 1856. The constitution remains the state’s supreme legal norm and has been amended repeatedly since then. On the coin, a right‑facing effigy of Grand Duke Henri occupies the left field; to the right appear “1868–2018” and “150 ans”, together with the constitution’s French title and the edge‑on view of an open book. The design is by Herbert Wähner, and mint marks vary by issue, including the Luxembourg lion and the Dutch caduceus.
