2 Euro Commemorative Coin France 2007 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome This issue marks the Treaties of Rome, signed on 25 March 1957. They created the European Economic Community and Euratom, establishing a durable framework for economic cooperation among European states after the Second World War. In 2007, France joined other euro-area countries in honouring this foundation of European integration. The design refers to the signing in Rome and recalls how political reconciliation developed into a shared European economic area.
