2 Euro Commemorative Coin Germany 2019 30th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall Germany’s 2019 €2 commemorative coin marks the fall of the Berlin Wall, an event that reshaped modern European history. It was issued from 10 October 2019 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Wall’s opening on 9 November 1989. Its national design presents a collage that treats the fall of the Wall as a shared European memory and symbolically connects it with the end of Germany’s division and the path toward reunification in freedom and democracy. The design originated at France’s Monnaie de Paris and was adapted for Germany with the wording “30 Jahre Mauerfall” and German national identifiers.
