2 Euro Commemorative Coin Netherlands 2007 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome This Dutch joint issue was released on 25 March 2007, exactly fifty years after the Treaties of Rome were signed. It honours the 1957 agreements that gave rise to the European Economic Community and Euratom. The shared design brings the treaty text together with Michelangelo’s star-patterned pavement on Rome’s Capitoline Hill, the historic signing location. For the Netherlands, the issue also became the first euro coin struck with the second common reverse design.
