2 Euro Commemorative Coin Finland 2021 Journalism and Open Communication Supporting the Finnish Democracy The coin honors journalism and open communication as foundations of Finnish democracy and refers to the centenary of the Finnish journalists’ union, founded on 28 March 1921 initially as the Finnish Union of Journalists (SSL) with eleven member associations. The central design shows stylized human figures formed from a band-like, interwoven net. The inscription reads "JOURNALISMI JOURNALISTIK" in Finnish and Swedish; the outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. Below are the year 2021, the Finnish mintmark and the country code "FI". The mintage is 800,000 pieces, with an issue period in spring 2021.
