2 Euro Commemorative Coin Italy 2021 Healthcare professionals Issued by Italy in 2021, this €2 commemorative coin, titled “Healthcare Professions,” honours doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel who worked on the front line during the COVID-19 pandemic. The World Health Organization described health workers as indispensable to the pandemic response, while the crisis disrupted essential services and placed the workforce under exceptional strain [2]. Italy’s design turns that recognition into a direct visual tribute: a man and a woman in medical clothing are shown with a face mask, stethoscope, and medical file. The initials “RI,” standing for the Italian Republic, appear between them. Above the figures, the word “GRAZIE” (“Thank you”) conveys the central message, accompanied by a heart and a medical cross. Designed by Claudia Momoni, the coin entered circulation on 22 June 2021 [1].
