2 Euro Commemorative Coin Finland 2022 Climate research in Finland This coin foregrounds Finland’s climate research, using the observation and study of climate change as the reason for issue rather than marking a single anniversary. The image field is dominated by a stylized beard lichen whose root‑like structure is rendered in relief at the center and alludes to nature as an object of scientific climate observation. The design is completed by a bilingual Finnish–Swedish legend identifying the theme, the date 2022 FI and the mint mark, while the outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag. Terhi Tuominen and Jitan V. Patel are credited on the detail side. A planned mintage of 400,000 with release scheduled for autumn 2022.
