2 Euro Commemorative Coin Andorra 2022 10th Anniversary of the entry into force of the Monetary Agreement between Andorra and the European Union This commemorative coin marks ten years since the Monetary Agreement between the Principality of Andorra and the European Union took effect. Andorra had used the euro before the agreement, but the treaty established a formal legal framework for using it as the country’s official currency and for issuing national euro coins. The agreement was concluded in 2011 and entered into force in 2012; Andorra was authorized to issue its own euro coins from July 2013. The design expresses this relationship symbolically. Puzzle pieces of varying shapes and sizes represent Andorra and the EU countries, suggesting cooperation and interconnection. Stars surrounding the euro symbol place both within the shared European monetary sphere. The dates 2012 and 2022 identify the agreement’s implementation and its tenth anniversary.
