2 Euro Commemorative Coin Finland 2022 35th Anniversary of the Erasmus Program The Finnish 2‑euro commemorative coin marks 35 years of Erasmus and bears the inscription "1987–2022". It commemorates the programme begun in 1987 to promote student mobility which later expanded into Erasmus+ covering education, training, youth and sport. The joint issue was approved by the euro‑area states and the motif was chosen by public vote. The design pairs a familiar portrait of the Dutch humanist Erasmus of Rotterdam with a transverse linking bar and an overlaid network; from this network additional stars emerge that symbolize European cooperation and are arranged to form the numeral 35. The design is by Joaquin Jimenez; the Finnish issue shows FI, the legend ERASMUS OHJELMA PROGRAMMET, the initials J.J., and the outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European flag.
