2 Euro Commemorative Coin France 2022 35th Anniversary of the Erasmus Program The Erasmus Programme began in 1987 and gave students in Europe new opportunities to spend part of their studies abroad. Over time, the university exchange developed into a broader programme for education, training, youth and sport. France’s coin for the thirty-fifth anniversary honours Erasmus as a practical form of European encounter. It recalls that integration does not take place only in treaties, but also grows through languages, friendships and personal experience across national borders.
