2 Euro Commemorative Coin Netherlands 2022 35th Anniversary of the Erasmus Program This joint issue of 2022 marks 35 years of the Erasmus Programme, which has supported study and educational experiences across European borders since 1987. For the Dutch design, Joaquin Jimenez combined a portrait of Erasmus of Rotterdam with a web of lines that also forms the number 35. The composition presents the humanist not merely as a namesake, but uses interconnection as a symbol of exchange and mobility. The coin was released on 1 July 2022.
