2 Euro Commemorative Coin Luxembourg 2023 175th Anniversary of the Luxembourg Parliament - Photo Version in BU Set This coin marks 175 years since the foundation of Luxembourg’s Chamber of Deputies and commemorates the 1848 constitution drafted amid the upheavals of the European revolutions. The constituent assembly met from 25 to 28 April 1848, first in Ettelbrück and then in Luxembourg City; its work established a constitutional monarchy, reinforced parliamentary authority and made the government accountable to the Chamber. The design places Grand Duke Henri’s profile at left and the Chamber building at right, with the inscriptions “1848” and “Chambre des Députés” between them; below appear “LUXEMBOURG” and the issue year 2023. Joaquin Jimenez’s initials “JJ” and a stylized Nashaupt sit beside the motif, and the twelve stars in the outer ring represent the European Union.
