2 Euro Commemorative Coin Monaco 2023 100th Anniversary of the birth of Prince Rainier III Rainier III was born in 1923 and ruled Monaco from 1949 to 2005. During his long reign, the Principality changed economically, architecturally and internationally without losing its dynastic identity. The centenary issue therefore recalls both the Prince and a major chapter of recent state history; part of the proof mintage was specifically intended for Monegasque citizens.
