2 Euro Commemorative Coin Portugal 2023 World Youth Day - Lisbon This 2 euro commemorative coin was issued on 19 July 2023 by Portugal to commemorate the 38th World Youth Day in Lisbon (1–6 August 2023). The design features a pilgrim’s cross at centre and a group of figures symbolising the event’s ethnically diverse youth; two hands below enclose the composition to represent the Pope’s welcome and the meeting’s inclusiveness and universality. The inner band bears inscriptions, the Portuguese coat of arms, the Casa da Moeda mint mark and the name JOÃO DUARTE; the outer ring shows twelve five‑pointed stars.
