2 Euro Commemorative Coin Slovakia 2023 200th Anniversary of the Start of Regular Stagecoaches Vienna-Bratislava In 1823 a regular horse-drawn express mail service began between Vienna and Bratislava. The route made the movement of people, news and trade across the then border more dependable and more visible. For its bicentenary, the coin shows a swiftly moving mail coach before a large post horn. By joining the two city names and the dates to a sense of motion, the design recalls how infrastructure linked places long before the railway age.
