2 Euro Commemorative Coin Andorra 2023 30th Anniversary of the Accession of Andorra to the United Nations The coin commemorates Andorra’s admission to the United Nations in 1993. On 28 July, the General Assembly decided to admit the Principality as a member, giving the small European state a permanent institutional setting for its international diplomacy. The accession took place during a period when Andorra was making its statehood and foreign-policy presence more visible, notably alongside the constitutional reform of 1993. The design turns the anniversary into the number 30: a numeral three and a globe form the central figure together. Two olive branches surround it, echoing the symbolism associated with the UN emblem. Above appear Andorra’s coat of arms and a Catalan inscription identifying the country as a UN member; “ANYS” and 2023 are placed below. The issue is limited to 70,000 coins.
