2 Euro Commemorative Coin Portugal 2024 50th Anniversary of the 25th of April 1974 Marks the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution (25 April 1974) and was issued on 22 April 2024. The obverse shows a carnation at the centre, encircled by eccentric rings that represent changing actions and convictions paired with fidelity to the revolution’s principles. To the left appears “Esta é a madrugada que eu esperava” from Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen’s poem “O Nome das Coisas”. Below are the mintmark "CASA DA MOEDA" and designer HENRIQUE CAYATTE; to the right "Portugal" and "25/04/1974_2024". The outer ring bears twelve stars. Issued in FDC and FS folders.
