2 Euro Commemorative Coin San Marino 2024 50th Anniversary of the Declaration of the Rights of Citizens' Rights and the Fundamental Principles of San Marino This issue marks fifty years since Law No. 59 was adopted on 8 July 1974. The law introduced San Marino’s Declaration of Citizens’ Rights and Fundamental Principles of the Sammarinese Legal Order, a key reference for safeguarding the human person and defining essential foundations of public authority. The anniversary therefore concerns a constitutional and civic milestone rather than an individual historical figure, highlighting the enduring place of rights within the country’s legal tradition. The design presents an open book bearing the principle drawn from Article 5: the rights of the human person are inviolable. Above it, the silhouettes of the Statue of Liberty and the Palazzo Pubblico evoke San Marino’s civic institutions and identity. Issued in April 2024, the coin links the written guarantee of rights with the visible symbols of the republic.
