2 Euro Commemorative Coin Estonia 2024 National Flower of Estonia Issued on 21 May 2024, Estonia’s commemorative two-euro coin celebrates the cornflower, chosen as the country’s national flower in 1968. The issue belongs to a series devoted to Estonian national symbols, presenting a modest field flower as a carrier of cultural identity and historical continuity. Its central design places a stylized bloom within a grain field stirred by the wind, allowing the flower’s vivid blue colour to evoke its natural setting rather than treating it as an isolated botanical specimen. An eight-pointed motif occupies the heart of the blossom. Drawn from Estonian folk ornament, it traditionally conveys good fortune and love. Around the image, the Latin name “CENTAUREA CYANUS” follows a semicircle, while “EESTI” and “2024” identify the country and year. The twelve stars of the European flag frame the national design. Kaupo Kangro created the coin, issued in the second quarter of 2024.
