2 Euro Commemorative Coin Andorra 2024 100th Anniversary of Skiing in Andorra The commemorative coin marks the beginning of skiing in Andorra, conventionally placed in 1924. It therefore represents a century in which skiing developed from the population’s first encounters with skis into a defining part of the country’s identity and economy. Today, skiing is regarded as Andorra’s leading sport and helps make the Pyrenean principality a prominent winter destination, known for snowy mountains, striking scenery and established resorts. The coin presents the lower section of a skier’s silhouette in energetic motion. The issuing country’s name, “ANDORRA,” and the year “2024” appear diagonally beneath the figure. Twelve stars encircling the design refer to the European flag. The coin was issued on 9 December 2024.
