2 Euro Commemorative Coin Slovakia 2025 100th Anniversary of the First International Sports Tournament in the Territory of the Slovak Republic - European Ice Hockey Championship The 1925 Ice Hockey European Championship was originally planned for Prague, but mild weather moved it to the High Tatras. With games in Štrbské Pleso and Starý Smokovec, it became the first international sporting event held in the territory of present-day Slovakia. Czechoslovakia won the tournament. The coin shows a player in period equipment against a Tatra panorama, linking sporting history to the landscape that made the competition possible.
