2 Euro Commemorative Coin Italy 2025 The Jubilee Year 2025 Italy’s 2025 €2 commemorative coin marks the Holy Year, a Catholic tradition centred on pilgrimage, spiritual renewal and reconciliation. The Ordinary Jubilee of 2025 is dedicated to hope and continues a sequence of Holy Years traditionally associated with the year 1300. One of its most recognisable signs is the Holy Door of St Peter’s Basilica: passing through it gives the pilgrim’s journey a visible expression of conversion and renewed faith. The coin places this doorway at the centre of its design. The arched inscription “IUBILAEUM” appears above it, while alternating solid and open fish are arranged below as a Christian symbol. The twelve stars around the outer ring connect the religious commemoration with Italy’s membership of the European Union.
