2 Euro Commemorative Coin Luxembourg 2025 25th Anniversary of the Accession to the Throne of Grand Duke Henri - Photo Version This issue marks twenty-five years since Henri became Luxembourg’s head of state on 7 October 2000, upon the abdication of his father, Grand Duke Jean. His inauguration was held the same day in the Chamber of Deputies. The coin was released on 5 May 2025. The design centers on the Grand Duke’s portrait set before the Grand Ducal Palace. Arcing above is the legend “25. TROUNJUBILAUM VUM GROUSSHERZOG HENRI”; below appear “LËTZEBUERG” and the year “2025.” The initials “MF,” attributed to Maria Anna Frisone, are visible in the field. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European flag.
