2 Euro Commemorative Coin Germany 2025 35th Anniversary of German Unity Issued in 2025, this German 2-euro commemorative coin marks 35 years of German unity and recalls 3 October 1990, when reunification took effect. It also inaugurates the “Unity and Justice and Freedom” series, planned to honor political figures who significantly shaped the Federal Republic’s history. Rather than showing a monument or portrait, the national side uses an expressive typographic design. “We are one people” and “35 Years of German Unity” appear as offset blocks, while an enlarged D connects them. The composition evokes Germans in East and West becoming one nation; the separated horizontal lines may also suggest an opened Berlin Wall.
